Our puppy is the cutest, sweetest thing in the world, BUT we are past our frustration limit when in terms of her house training. She doesn't go into another room or attempt to hide her indiscretion, she's just fast and unpredictable. We watch her closely, but it seems that we blink and there has been an accident. For instance, she has been sitting at my feet and I look down to find she has gone inside my shoe, or she will go right next to her food bowl when we feed her.
We have a kennel that is small enough where she can't turn around, but she still goes to the bathroom in it. She even goes in her dog bed. Punishment isn't working, she knows when she has done wrong and will look guilty until we find the accident, but yet she won't stop going in the house. We have a big yard and we let her out frequently with our Golden Retriever. We are at a loss for ideas to train her, maybe she is part piglet rather than King Charles?
We have a 6 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that refuses to be potty trained. HELP!!!?
If all you say is true, there is something very strange about your dog. Even dogs that are absolutely not housebroken will try their best not to go to the bathroom where they eat or sleep.
I would investigate medical reasons. If your puppy has a birth defect or an illness that prevents her from "holding it" then potty training her may be a moot point.
For right now, you can put doggie diapers on her to keep your house clean.
