Have You seen this about McCain vs Obama?

John McCain's remarks about the Pledge of Allegiance In light of the recent appeals court ruling in California, with respect to the Pledge of Allegiance, the following recollection from Senator John McCain is very appropriate: 'The Pledge of Allegiance' - by Senator John McCain……………………………………..'As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room. This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from home. One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian.Mike came from a small town near Selma , Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed. As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive packages from home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves and other items of clothing. Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months, he created an American flag and sewed on the inside of his shirt. Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell and say the Pledge of Allegiance. I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that in that stark cell it was indeed the most important and meaningful event. One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it. That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours. Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could. The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room. As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received, making another American flag. He was not making the flag because it made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knew how important it was to us to be able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and country. So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance, you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation and promote freedom around the world. You must remember our duty, our honor, and our country.' I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God,indivisable, with liberty and justice for all.' PASS THIS ON... And on... And on! You can even send it back to me, I don't mind, because its worth reading again. oh......and then you have this clown, who refuses to place his hand on his heart and say the pledge......Subject: Remember this picture on election day!Let's all remember this on election day...if you have family serving in the military, make sure you send it along. I don't care for Hillary, but at least she shows respect for the country she lives in!I had heard about this but a picture is definitely worth 1000 words! God save us!!!Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name).....the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how in the hell can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief?

Have You seen this about McCain vs Obama?
I cannot understand Americans who do not know the difference between the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. At least John McCain has an excuse. He's old. The National Anthem's protocol is to stand in reverence. It does not require a hand over the heart. Americans who do not know or understand this need to study American History more. You shouldn't have to have a Harvard education to comprehend this concept. And when did you stop caring for Hillary? You've been for her all along and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Reply:Then someone should have told this to JFK and should tell it to Bill Clinton, Al Gore and Joe Biden. I've seen them all just stand in reverence with the flag displayed. And someone should certainly tell all the NASCAR fans. Lettie Report It

Reply:Obama said that he thinks the flag is a symbol of oppression. Anyone who still supports him is anti-American.
Reply:Obama is a disgrace to our flag and our country. He won't be president and I would bet my life on that.
Reply:No it has nothing to do with that.

Speaking the truth about Obama shows just what a racist you are.

%26lt;end sarcasm%26gt;
Reply:OK you got me...but I am already on McCain's side...what a guy...
Reply:I love the story about the man and the flag, but it has already been established that in the photo they were singing the National Anthem and Obama had not been taught to hold his arm over his chest during the singing. He could not see the other candidates in the photo and did not know they all held their arms this way.
Reply:Amen...

But Hussein will be the next president, because the press is doing everything they can to ensure it.

Just look at the Current story Yahoo has on its home page of signiture analysis, read the Headline, then read the story, Headline doesn't match what so ever to the details in the story. Not that signiture anylsis isn't anything more then a BS skit with no factual science of ever proven to be right. But if you read the details in the story, had the press not loved Hussein they would just as well written the headline to read that he had a violent temper, was Bi-polar, withdrawn probably depressed ect.

McCain for the win.
Reply:I respect McCain's service to our country when he was younger and I respect his loyalty to the Pledge of Allegiance in this poignant story, but what you are saying...or someone is saying..about Barack Obama is not true. He is as patriotic as you or me, and I think this story is simply false. As far as I know, there is no law that says you have to place your hand on your heart during the Pledge. It is what is IN your heart that counts, not ON your heart.

This kind of stuff is ridiculous. In the first place, just because John McCain was a Prisoner of War does not automatically make him capable of handling the Presidency at the age of 72. Since he admires the policies of George Bush, that does it for me right there.

Perhaps you think spreading misinformation to start a war is patriotic. I don't! I don't care if George Bush places his hand on his heart, wears a Flag Lapel Pin and recites the Pledge of Allegiance from dawn to dusk, there are soldiers that have died needlessly because of him, to say nothing of thousands of Iraqi people. I suppose John McCain considers it patriotic to occupy a country and strip it of its resources. Why aren't people calling George Bush unpatriotic because of those deaths and John McCain unpatriotic for supporting the war?

Tossing in Obama's middle name is indicative of your mood. As much as I admire your posts, that was unnecessary. If my name were Mary Hitler Smith, would that make me a Nazi?

As you know, I am a Hillary supporter, but if Obama wins, I will definitely be on his side. I don't care for this kind of "he is unpatriotic" accusations, because uninformed people believe this stuff and think it is true, which it is not. It is simply Swift Boating. The real danger is in allowing the George Bush Imperial Philosophy, as admired by John McCain, to do any more damage to our Constitution and our country.
Reply:McCain is a pandering old man how has taken so many gifts and "campaign" contributions from defense contractors he has been bought and payed for by special interests for years

he is as dirty as they come, aside from the fact that he's a loose canon and not functioning at 100% any more

he would have been a good canidate in 2000, now he's just a shell of what he once was

will be fun as all this stuff comes out this fall

Obama, 08!!
Reply:Thank you for that beautiful story. I am going to place my flag up today in honor of all of our soldiers who hold the flag true to their hearts and know the meaning of being away form home, perhaps captive in a strange land. I have tears in my eyes... Much appreciation.
Reply:Anyone who is patriotic at all sees the flag as our symbol of freedom. The lives that were lost attaining and keeping that freedom are disrespected by anyone who can not show proper respect to our flag. Our enemies know that and that is why they burn our flag or stomp on it like obama's buddy Ayers did. NBC who is owned by GE, has been boosting obama. The CEO of GE, keith Sherin has made many contributions to Obamas campaign. NBC and GE should be boycotted for selling obama to our country. They also refused to run a paid ad about our troops at Christmas.Obama must be stopped.
Reply:For people who enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, it may be difficult to distinguish between putting life and limb at risk, as McCain admirably did for his country, and being sure to make a certain move at a certain time, because you know that you're too chicken *()to ever serve as McCain did so you want to be sure to get the hand signals right.

Other people seek to express their patriotism in constructive ways, helping the less fortunate and other equally noble though less dramatic ways. Those people concern themselves less over the hand signals, because they are comfortable with their own love of the ideals of our nation.

It's kind of like the scared kid in school who had to act all macho just to be sure no one thought he was gay. That's the hand over the heart crowd, poseurs.
Reply:the similarities between McCain and Osama are more than their differences. To vote for either is to vote for fascism. I puke at the thought of either of them becoming president.
Reply:The problem with your story is that Obama never refused to put his hand on his heart for the pledge - that's a lie. As a US Senator, Obama has lead the pledge in front of the Senate on more than one occasion. He never refused to say the pledge.

So very nice, A+ for length, but it doesn't mean anything because your central premise is factually incorrect.

Edit%26gt; So Cracker Jack, if Obama becomes president you'll commit suicide? Really?
